The Mischiefkids web site is database driven which means it is linked to our tills and automatically updates to tell you if stock is either:

As this is all designer clothing it is unlikely that we can get more of what has already sold out, so please check that the size you are ordering is showing up as 'In Stock' or 'Not yet arrived'

If you place an order and we find that something is not actually in stock (this can be because something is reserved for someone else already or we have an error on our database) then we will email you to let you know and ask if you want to proceed with any other matching items you may have ordered at the same time or we will try and offer you an alternative size or style (but we won't just despatch alternatives without contacting you first).

The fastest way of getting your order processed is by placing your order online in the shopping basket. If you place your order by phone then we would have to do this for you (after we have finished processing all the orders already placed online).

DELIVERY & SHIPPING INFORMATION

When you place your order in the shopping basket and go to 'check out' you will see that the delivery charges are shown as 0.00

This does not mean that delivery is free. It means that we charge you the cost price that Royal Mail or UPS charge us plus approx £1.00 GBP for packing and handling.

We will not just charge you, we will email you with the cost of delivery (unless you choose from the 'just send it' option during check out). Please read below to see what we do.....

When you have decided what you would like to order and how quickly you need it, we parcel everything up unsealed and weigh it. We then send you an email with the cost of shipping/delivery. We then wait for you to confirm your order.
If you prefer, when you choose your shipping method during 'check out' you can request that we 'just send it' and this means that if everything on your order is in stock we despatch it immediately rather than wait for you to confirm the delivery costs.

Sorry but we cannot hold on to goods if you do not confirm within 24 hours.

We could make this information much simpler by giving a 'charge per item' there are 3 reasons why we don't do this

We would have to give the price for our heaviest item just to cover ourselves.
If you want more than one item then it is much cheaper to weigh everything together.
If we are able to obtain a less expensive option then we can pass the saving on to you. See our latest UPS price list for an example of this.

We never charge your credit card until everything is ready to leave.

Guaranteed delivery by noon the next day to most areas in the UK.
**Working days are Monday to Friday, they do not include Saturdays, Sundays and Bank or Public Holidays. Royal Mail reserves the right to deliver on non-working days, subject to capacity. Later times apply for the remote parts of Scotland.

Packaging
When we first started to send our collections out by mail order in 1996 we used to use boxes. Unfortunately this meant that the garments had to be folded and it was also more expensive.
We have now found that garments arrive in much better condition when sent in an 'airmail pack' (even to the UK). The airmail pack is a heavy duty plastic sack (don't worry it does not tear open)

Ordering from Mischief

Now I hope you have guessed by now that Mischief is not a huge faceless company with a massive distribution centre where customers are treated like 'account numbers'.

Mischief is a small children's designer boutique that has been trading in Leigh in Lancashire England since 1983 with lots of lovely customers who come back time and time again.

There are just the 3 of us, Debra, Jean and Lynn (I'm Lynn) and we do everything from ordering, pricing, serving, writing this web site and answering your emails so please forgive us if we are busy in the shop if you phone. If you contact us by email then we can reply to you without distraction. We will try and reply without delay but please be aware that processing orders is our first priority and we cannot answer your queries until all the orders have been done.
(When we put new collections online or have a web sale this can mean a delay of days).

When we process your order and something you want from the same outfit or collection has already sold out, we will email you to ask how you want us to proceed do not just send out the pieces that are availble without checking with you first.

Rather than have you order something that may not fit we are happy to run a tape measure over the garment of your choice and email you back with its measurements if that is what you would like.

We don't have racks and racks of the same sizes as, first and foremost, we are a 'shop'. Everything on the site is subject to availability and the only way we can operate this is on a 'first come - first served basis and we cannot hold onto goods for you without a confirmed order with credit card details.

We don't charge your card until your goods are ready to be despatched and we don't give or sell your email address to anyone else but please read our full privacy policy (click the 'privacy policy' link near the base of this page).

RETURNS POLICY

Mischief is just a small boutique and not a large mail order company so please respect this

The following does not affect your statutory rights.

Customers have a right to cancel their order in writing (by email, fax or by post) within 7 days from the day after receipt or their order.To help us credit your card within 48 hours please obtain a returns number to put on the outside of your parcel (Customers outside the UK and Europe please see below for further information). If you decide to cancel then you will have to return the goods to us unworn and unmarked and with all the original labels intact and you have a 'duty of care' over the garments until they are returned to us, you will also have to pay the costs of returning the goods to us and to take reasonable care to see they are received by us. If you cancel within the period given above then we will credit your credit/debit card within 48 (working) hours of the goods being received in the condition stated above.
A polite request: Please fold the garments carefully and do not try to squeeze them into too small a container.
For goods cancelled/returned after 7 days the following will apply
at our discretion so please request a returns number before sending goods back, but again this does not affect your statutary rights:-
Goods returned 8 to 14 days 20% restocking/handling fee. Goods returned 14 to 28 days 50% restocking/handling fee. After 28 days no credit will be given. Goods must be returned back in the condition they were sent in and must not be squeezed into tiny packages or returned with lipstick or any other marks on them. Goods returned with marks of any kind will be returned to you at your cost. Please read our terms and conditions on our order form prior to ordering. We will do our best to make sure the goods you order will fit and we are happy to measure garments for you if you have any doubts about the sizing. Please help us to help you by getting in touch with us if you have any problems.

Orders from outside the UK and Europe

Goods being returned to the UK will incur duty charges unless Customs and Excise are made aware that your parcel is being returned to the UK and is not an import into this country.

Please do not return goods without receiving a returns number and the returns procedure for returning goods to the UK. If you do send goods back without using our returns procedure and customs charge duty then this will be deducted from your credit.
